Malung is a locality and the seat of Malung-Sälen Municipality, Dalarna County, Sweden, with 5,146 inhabitants in 2005.[1]
Overview
It is also home to Malungs Folkhögskola, a few kilometers outside downtown. Folkhögskolor are vocational schools located across the country to provide small communities with academic resources. Malung's school has a few of the best Swedish fiddlers (Jonny Soling and Kalle Almlöf), singers (Maria Röjås and Anders Larsson) and folk dancers as teachers of their folk music and dance programs. Other specialized courses include mountaineering and health.
