Mamburao is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Occidental Mindoro, Philippines. It is the capital municipality of Occidental Mindoro. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 30,378 people in 6,259 households.

Location
Mamburao is located in the northern part of Occidental Mindoro. It is bounded to the northwest by the town of Paluan; to the northeast by the town of Abra de Ilog; to the east by the town of Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro province; to the southeast by the town of Santa Cruz, and to the southwest by the Mindoro Strait.
Mamburao can be reached from Metro Manila by taking a bus to Batangas City pier, taking a roll-on-roll-off (RORO) to Abra de Ilog pier that would take about two hours travel, then riding a van/jeepney/bus going to Mamburao that would take about thirty minutes travel.
