Manchester is a village in Adams County, Ohio, United States, along the Ohio River. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 2,043.

Manchester is served by the Manchester Local School District and the Manchester Public Library, a branch of the Adams County Public Library.

Manchester is located at 38°41'22" North, 83°36'33" West (38.689546, -83.609263)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.8 km² (1.1 mi²). 2.8 km² (1.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.92% is water.

Demographics

The racial makeup of the village is 97.50% White, 0.15% African American, 0.44% Native American, 0.24% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.05% from other races, and 1.62% from two or more races.

There are 882 households out of which 29.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.0% are married couples living together, 15.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.0% are non-families. 33.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 18.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
