Manifold Trilogy
The Manifold Trilogy is a series of science fiction books by Stephen Baxter. Though there are properly four books, the series is still considered a trilogy as the fourth book is simply an anthology related to the other three.
The three books in the trilogy are not ordered chronologically; instead, they are three thematically linked novels that take place in alternate universes. Each novel contains similar characters, though those characters find themselves in wildly different circumstances. Additionally, each novel deals with a possible resolution to the Fermi Paradox.
