Review

Kirkpatrick's debut album, The Maple Room, is a beautiful collection of serene songs accompanied by acoustic and electric guitars, strings and keyboards. Kirkpatrick's vocals are clear and passionate as he sings personal songs from the heart. One of the most heartwarming songs on this album is "Hanging by a Thread". The song explains what it is like to love someone so completely in a way that no other song ever has. Kirkpatrick originally wrote this song for the movie "The Runaway Bride," but it didn't make it. Although The Maple Room is often classified as "Gospel" or "Contemporary Christian," none of the lyrics are overtly Christian. It's the type of album that will speak to both Christian and secular audiences, and is highly recommended for those looking for a good, wholesome music that is neither overly sweet nor trivial. ~ Diana Moes VandeHoef, All Music Guide
