Marcaria is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Mantua in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 110 km southeast of Milan and about 20 km west of Mantua. As of 31 December 2004[update], it had a population of 7,071 and an area of 89.6 km².[1]
The municipality of Marcaria contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Campitello, Canicossa, Casatico, Casazze, Cesole, Cimbriolo, Gabbiana, Ospitaletto Mantovano, Pilastro, and San Michele in Bosco.
Marcaria borders the following municipalities: Acquanegra sul Chiese, Borgoforte, Bozzolo, Castellucchio, Curtatone, Gazoldo degli Ippoliti, Gazzuolo, Redondesco, San Martino dall'Argine, Viadana.
