Achard, Marcel (pseud. of Marcel-Augustin Ferréol) (1899-1974). Highly successful author of superior Boulevard comedies over a period of 50 years. Full of quick repartee and a certain poetic fantasy, his plays all turn on affairs of the heart. Voulezvous jouer avec moa? (1924) was produced by Dullin; thereafter, with Jean de la lune (1929), Le Corsaire (1938), and other plays, he had a mutually fruitful partnership with Jouvet.
