Beginnings
Marcus was raised in Macon, Georgia, and in 1962 at the age of five years old he became a Born again Christian at the East Macon Church of God where his family attended. He was very much involved with church activities while growing up in Macon. He attended Sunday school, church camps, and camp meetings into his teens.
While Marcus was attending a camp meeting in Atlanta, Georgie in 1973 he heard Evangelist Ronnie Brock preach. This was an inspiration for him. At the age of 15, Lamb began preaching as an Evangelist. He then went on to become an Ordained Bishop in the Church Of God Cleveland, TN. Marcus began traveling in the South preaching at revivals, and in the autumn of 1980 while preaching at a revival in Greenville, South Carolina, Marcus met Joni Trammell in her home church, the Tremont Avenue Church of God. They began dating and were married two years later in 1982.
Together they began to travel and minister at various churches through out the southeastern part of the United States and eventually went nationwide preaching at revivals.
