Biography
According to her publicity, Margaret Tallichet was discovered working as a secretary for Paramount's publicity department by Carole Lombard. David O. Selznick took an interest and the brunette Tallichet made the inevitable screen test to play Scarlett O'Hara. She didn't make the cut, of course, but was ushered into a couple of B-movies.
