Biography

A veteran of numerous television series and the Mighty Ducks franchise, Marguerite Moreau got her start in the entertainment business when most of her peers were busy navigating the rough waters of the sixth grade. Moreau, who was born in California on April 25, 1977, got her first break on television with a bit part in an episode of The Wonder Years, and subsequently landed work on Blossom. She made her film debut at the age of 14 in The Mighty Ducks (1992), and reprised her role for the successful comedy's two sequels. In between filming The Mighty Ducks trilogy, Moreau found more work on TV and in such kid-friendly fare as Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home (1995). In 1997 she got a crack at more adult-oriented content with a bit part in the political satire Wag the Dog, and followed that with another small part in Mighty Joe Young (1998).

After earning a degree in Political Science from Vassar College, Moreau began appearing in more substantial roles in films ranging from Robert Mickelson's Off the Lip (2000) to Wet Hot American Summer (2001), a Meatballs-esque summer camp exploitation flick that starred Janeane Garofalo and David Hyde Pierce. She then sunk her teeth, so to speak, into the role of a lusty vampire wannabe in Queen of the Damned (2002), which starred the singer Aaliyah in her first and last screen role before her untimely 2001 death.

Moreau continued to toggle between the big and small screens, appearing as Gene Hackman's assistant in Runaway Jury (2003); earning praise for her role as a licentious twentysomething in the festival favorite Easy (2003); practicing her tics as Sadie Atkins in the made-for-TV remake of the made-for-TV classic Helter Skelter (2004); and appearing as a high school English teacher/object of teen desire in the acclaimed ABC series Life As We Know It. ~ Rebecca Flint Marx, All Movie Guide

Marguerite Moreau (born April 25, 1977) is an American actress. She is perhaps best known for her roles on the television series Blossom and her role in The Mighty Ducks series of films. She has also made appearances on the popular television series Smallville, Lost, Cupid and The O.C.

Career

Moreau's first break out role was playing the recurring part of Melanie on Blossom in 1994 and 1995. She guest starred in several TV series such as Boy Meets World and 3rd Rock from the Sun. As a child actress, she appeared in the Mighty Ducks films playing Connie Moreau. After graduating from Vassar College with her B.A. in Political Science in 1999, she landed some of her most prominent roles. After starring in the cult film Wet Hot American Summer, she played the role of Jesse in the 2002 film Queen of the Damned, based on the Anne Rice novels.

She played the lead role in the TV miniseries Firestarter 2: Rekindled, succeeding Drew Barrymore in the role of Charlie McGee. In 2003's Runaway Jury she played opposite Gene Hackman. Moreau also starred in the 2003 independent film Easy, which has also been broadcast on the Showtime cable television network. She stars as Jamie, a career oriented woman who can't seem to find a nice guy. Then she meets two nice guys, John (played by Naveen Andrews of Lost) and Mick (played by Brian F. O'Byrne), and is unable to decide between the two of them.

Returning to television, she starred as Susan Atkins in Helter Skelter, a television movie about Charles Manson, and had a regular role on the ABC network series Life As We Know It in the 2004–2005 season. She played Monica Young, a high school teacher having an affair with one of her students.

Moreau appeared in a season two episode of Lost, playing Starla in "Everybody Hates Hugo", as well as several episodes of The O.C., playing Reed Carlson. Originally, she was to have a regular role in the Fox show Killer Instinct, but her character was written out of the series after the first episode and was replaced by Kristin Lehman. [1] She has also appeared as a recurring character on the ABC series What About Brian.

She also appeared in a season 2 episode of Mad Men as an enigmatic call girl named Vicky.

In 2009, she guest starred in the pilot episode of the hit series "Cupid" where she helps an Irish man find his "love at first sight". She also made an appearance in the Monk episode "Mr. Monk and the Dog", playing the role of Amanda Castle.
