Petipa, Maria Mariusovna (b St Petersburg, 29 Oct. 1857, d Paris, 1930). Russian dancer. Daughter of Marius Petipa. She made her debut in the title role of The Blue Dahlia in 1875 and became an acclaimed character dancer. Her most important created role was the Lilac Fairy in her father's Sleeping Beauty (1890).
