Marie de Luxembourg, Queen of France

Marie de Luxembourg (1304 – 26 March 1324), Queen Consort of France, second wife of King Charles IV of France. She was the daughter of Henry of Luxembourg and Margaret of Brabant. She was married in Paris to Charles IV of France following his divorce from his adulterous first wife, Blanche de Bourgogne, on 21 September 1322. Whilst pregnant again in March 1324, Marie was involved in a carriage accident, and seriously injured. Her child, a boy (Louis), was born prematurely, and died several hours later; Marie died on 26 March 1324, aged only nineteen, and was buried at Montargis in the Dominican church.
