Maringá (mərēng-gä'), city (1996 pop. 268,878), Paraná state, SE Brazil. It is an agricultural center whose chief products are coffee, corn, beans, rice, wheat, and sugarcane. Coffee processing is the main industry. Much of its population is of Japanese descent.
