Mark Gordon (born October 10, 1956) is an American television and film producer.

Life and career

Gordon is originally from Newport News, Virginia and attended Hampton Roads Academy. He has worked on numerous projects as both producer and executive producer including A Pyromaniac's Love Story, Speed, 10,000 B.C., The Jackal, A Simple Plan and Saving Private Ryan. He has also been an executive producer on TV series like Criminal Minds, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Army Wives and Reaper.

Future projects

Gordon and scribe Michael Seitzman are now two-for-two this pilot season, scoring a greenlight from CBS for their Washington, D.C.-based drama "House Rules." Eye has also greenlit laffer "The Fish Tank," from scribes Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith, and the hour-long "A Marriage," from "Thirtysomething" creators Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick. The "House Rules" pickup comes just days after ABC picked up another Mark Gordon Co. project penned by Seitzman ("North Country"), the Manhattan sudser "Empire State." "House Rules" revolves around the freshman class of elected representatives in Washington. Seitzman will exec produce with Gordon and Deborah Spera. ABC Studios is behind the pilot.

As for "The Fish Tank," laffer centers on a teen who suddenly gets his parents' house to himself five days a week. Sony Pictures Television is behind the cast-contingent comedy pilot. Yuspa and Goldsmith's credits include "'Til Death," "The King of Queens" and the feature "What Women Want."

Awards/nominations

He has been nominated for an Academy Award for Saving Private Ryan. Other awards include BAFTA Awards, Daytime Emmy Awards, Emmy Award, Leo Award, Producers Guild of America Award and the Golden Satellite Award.
