Mark "Barney" Greenway (born 13 July 1969 in Great Barr, Birmingham) is a British grindcore singer, who has been a member of Napalm Death, Extreme Noise Terror and Benediction.
While out of Napalm Death, during 1998, Greenway started a band called Nothing But Contempt with Cancer drummer Carl Stokes. After Stokes left Nothing But Contempt, Danny Herrera became the band's drummer. Nevertheless, Greenway returned to Napalm Death, and Nothing But Contempt was put on hold.
Greenway has stated his nickname "Barney" came from a time when he used to drink alcohol. He stated he would get so drunk that when he went anywhere, he would bump into everything. From this behaviour, he would be called "Rubble", which changed to "Barney Rubble" and then just "Barney". [2]

Personality
Greenway is a progressive metal fan. He joined Dream Theater on stage at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club and performed vocals on Metallica's "Damage, Inc." live. He is a regular contributor to the British rock magazine Kerrang! as a reviewer of progressive metal bands/albums.
Greenway is also a supporter of Aston Villa F.C.[citation needed] He is a supporter of PETA and has been a vegetarian since he was 14.[1] Barney is also recognisable for his strong Birmingham accent which has never waned and which he proudly maintains, and for his distinctive gruff vocal style that many feel has become synonymous with Napalm Death.
He has several tattoos, including a tattoo of the Aston Villa badge.
