The market share of leading PC vendors is watched closely, as the personal computer (PC) is an iconic technological product. Market discussion of these devices, typically desktop and laptop computers, may include netbooks but do not include tablet computers which are dominated by Apple's iPad.[1]
HP has held the top spot since 2007. With the fall of Dell and the fall of Acer, Lenovo took over second place in 2011. It is estimated that HP will keep the top spot for at least another 2 years.
