Martin Bisi is an American producer and songwriter. He is known for recording important records by Sonic Youth,Swans, John Zorn, Material, Bill Laswell, Herbie Hancock's Grammy-winning Rockit, Helmet Unsane , Cop Shoot Cop, White Zombie, Boredoms, and Angels of Light.

In 1979, Martin Bisi started BC Studio with Bill Laswell and Brian Eno in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn, where he recorded many of the No Wave, punk bands, and hip-hop of the early 1980s including Lydia Lunch, Foetus, Live Skull, and Afrika Bambaata. In 2002 Bisi recorded The Dresden Dolls' critically acclaimed debut album, and in 2005, mixed the surprise break-out CD by Serena Maneesh of Norway.

Solo Career

Starting with a solo record in 1988 - Creole Mass (New Alliance/SST) - Bisi also records and performs as a singer and guitar player. Most recently in 2009, he has released a full length CD, Sirens Of The Apocalypse on Contraphonic in the US, and Danse Macabre in Germany. Also in 2009, Contraphonic released a Martin Bisi digital-only 5-song EP, Son Of A Gun, which features guests Bill Laswell, Brian Viglione of The Dresden Dolls, and Bob D'Amico of The Fiery Furnaces. 2009 also saw Bisi's first extensive touring throughout the US, and in Germany
