Wikipedia: Mary (mother of James and John)

Salome was the wife of Zebedee and mother of James the Great and John the apostle in the New Testament. She was the sister of Jesus' mother Mary. Mary is commemorated with Joanna and Salome in the Calendar of Saints of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod on August 3.
