Masafumi Gotō

Masafumi Gotō (後藤 正文 Gotō Masafumi?) is the lead singer, guitarist and main songwriter in the Japanese rock band Asian Kung Fu Generation. He was born on December 2nd, 1976. He met fellow band members Kensuke Kita and Takahiro Yamada in a musical circle of Kanto Gakuin University, they formed Asian Kung Fu Generation in 1996 with Kiyoshi Ijichi joining the band shortly after.

According to Flash-Back, an Asian Kung Fu Generation fansite, he has a degree in economics and his favourite bands are Weezer, Number Girl, Teenage Fanclub and Eastern Youth.

Asian Kung Fu Generaton has written many songs, including the hit song "Rewrite", which was a beginning theme for the anime Full Metal Alchemist. They have also written the song, "Haruka Kanata", the second beginning theme for the anime and manga series, "Naruto"
