US Military Dictionary: Masaharu Homma

Homma, Masaharu (1887-46) Japanese army general who led the Japanese invasion of the Philippine Islands (1941) following the attack on Pearl Harbor. Homma surrendered to U.S. forces in 1945 and was subsequently brought to trial. Convicted of ordering the Bataan Death March (1942) and condoning other atrocities, he was executed by a firing squad.
