Size: 1,500 acres. Location: In southeastern Massachusetts, off I-495. Facilities: 126 campsites (most with electrical or water hookups; some wheelchair access sites), showers, restrooms (wheelchair access), picnic area, trails, beaches (wheelchair access), boat ramp, visitor center. Activities: Camping, boating (non-motorized), canoeing, fishing, swimming (camping patrons only), hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hunting (with restrictions), cross-country skiing. Special Features: Four lakes in this heavily wooded park afford many recreational opportunities as well as scenic beauty, especially in the fall, when the scarlet cranberry bogs contrast vividly with the evergreen pines.

Massasoit State Park is a Massachusetts state park located in Taunton and Lakeville. The park is managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR).

Description

Massasoit State Park is a heavily wooded multi-use park principally used for hiking, fishing, and camping.

Features of the park include six lakes and ponds (Lake Rico, Furnace Pond, King's Pond, Middle Pond, Little Bearhole Pond, and Big Bearhole Pond) and numerous cranberry bogs.

The park also offers 126 campsites, most with water and/or electrical hookups.
