Match grade

Wikipedia: Match grade

Match grade may refer to something being suitable for a match, that is, able to compete with others.

In firearms, the term is used to refer to ammunition and gun parts that are designed and manufactured such that they have a relatively high level of accuracy. In addition to its use in shooting sports, match grade equipment is often employed by military and law enforcement sharpshooters. Match grade ammunition is generally more expensive than comparable non "match" ammunition, but is more accurate; being capable of minute of arc or better accuracy. In order to reduce expense and fine-tune performance, many competitive shooters handload their match grade ammunition.
