Mathew John Baynton (born 18 November 1980)[1] is an English actor, [2] musician and writer.

Life and work
Baynton trained at and graduated with a first from the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama.[3][4]
Baynton stars in the UK television series Horrible Histories as a singer, actor and writer.[5] He is also known for his role as Deano in Gavin & Stacey.
Baynton is a member of the band Special Benny, as a vocalist, guitarist and bassist. Their début album Toys was released in 2010. Mat also has a solo career under the name Dog Ears. His début EP, So It Goes was launched in November 2011.[6]. The EP consisted of four songs written by Baynton:
- The Howling
- Like Rain
- Onwards Onwards
- Mrs Winchester
It has been confirmed that Baynton will be joining James Corden as a writing duo, in The Wrong Man, a comedy-thriller for BBC Two, due for release in 2012.
