Eyth, Max (Kirchheim, Teck, 1836-1906, Ulm), an engineer and inventor, worked for Fowler's of Leeds, steam plough manufacturers, from 1861 to 1882, travelling in Europe and America after a year in Leeds. In 1884 he founded the Deutsche Landwirtschaftsgesellschaft. He wrote the historical novels Der Kampf um die Cheopspyramide (2 vols., 1902) and Der Schneider von Ulm (2 vols., 1906), but is chiefly known for his autobiography Hinter Pflug und Schraubstock (2 vols., 1899).
