Arvada, Colorado's Maximum Charisma Studios was founded in 2001 with the goal of creating online games that are universally accessible and enjoyable by fundamental design. In the spirit of its name, the company supported its game world and characters with authentic devotion, faithful promotion, and clever flair. The studio's sole release, Fighting Legends Online, was bolstered by a notably aggressive marketing campaign that involved Mexican Jumping Beans, high-quality plush toys, and living evergreen trees. The studio slyly took its name from 1995's "Treehouse of Horror VI" Halloween episode of The Simpsons, in which the brainy Martin dreams he is "the wondrous wizard of Latin," with "a million hit points and maximum charisma."
