Chico Science & Nação Zumbi was undoubtedly one of the best and most creative bands to emerge in Brazil in 1990s. Their fantastic debut, Da Lama ao Caos, with its raw, powerful blend of hardcore, rock, maracatu, and samba has already been considered a classic for some time. This collection brings together some of the best tracks from the band's first three albums. That is, the ones recorded before Chico Science's tragic and much premature death in 1996. This includes great tracks like "Da Lama ao Caos," "Rios Pontes e Overdrives," and "Computadores Fazem Arte" from the group's first album, "Corpo de Lama" from the second, and the fine remix of "Coco Dup" from the third. Maxximum gives the listener a very good overview of Nação Zumbi's early work, but it has to be said that Da Lama ao Caos is really well worth getting altogether, as it is a great album from start to finish. Chico Science's potent, aggressive voice backed up by the heavy, crunching guitar riffs and the maracatu drums is simply great rock by any standards. ~ Philip Jandovský, All Music Guide
