Mborje is one of the oldest villages in the Korçë district. It is said that thousands of years ago, when the field of Korce was covered by water, (Kenete), Mborje was the center of the civilization. This is also testified by many Palofites (houses built in the water) found there, and some very ancient churches too. There in Mborje is one of the oldest church in europe.
