MaxMD provides professional, permanent and portable web addresses to physicians, group medical practices, medical associations, patient groups, healthcare corporations and medical institutions in the only Internet domain dedicated to the worldwide medical community. MaxMD has constructed an encrypted communication solution at the TLD level that enables users to communicate securely and safeguard Electronic Protected Information (ePHI) in compliance with the technical standards and safeguards established by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. MaxMD also provides physician authentication to selected registrants through the .md Verified Physician Badge.
