mean arterial pressure

Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Email

The average arterial blood pressure during a complete cardiac cycle. The mean arterial pressure determines the rate of blood flow through the circulatory system. It is difficult to measure, but is approximated using the following equation: mean arterial pressure = diastolic pressure + 1/3 (systolic pressure-diastolic pressure).
