Mechoopda
The Mechoopda is a Native American tribe located in northern California. The tribe speaks a language related to Maidu.
The tribe was formerly centered in a village located about 3½ miles (6 km) south of contemporary Chico, California. The Mechoopda became a federally recognized tribe in 1992.
