Mecia Simone Simson is a British model, who was announced as the winner of the fifth cycle of Britain's Next Top Model in July 2009.[1]

Britain's Next Top Model

Simson first came to the public's attention by appearing on the fifth cycle of Britain's Next Top Model in 2009. She was selected as the first finalist after impressing the judges the most at the boot camp themed semi finals, and won a billboard campaign in the U.S. for Christian Audigier for this accomplishment. Simson went onto receive another first call out in the 8th week of the competition for her "stranded with a burning car" photograph, and she won two further challenges. She managed to make it to the final four without being in the bottom two, before surviving over Ashley Brown and Jade McSorley in consecutive weeks.

On 6 July 2009, Simson was announced as the winner of "Britain's Next Top Model" after being chosen over Sophie Sumner in the final two. She received a contract with top modelling agency Models 1, a cover and six page spread in Company Magazine, and became the face of a Max Factor cosmetics campaign as her rewards for winning the competition.

She appeared on This Morning on July 7 modelling clothes for VV Brown

Personal life

Whilst appearing on Britain's Next Top Model, Simson's boyfriend proposed to her through a video message, and she accepted his proposal. She has gone from Sandwich shop worker to Britain’s Next Top Model Winner.

She has announced she will be moving to London with 3rd placed contestant Jade McSorley, both to pursue modelling careers.
