Mecom Group aims to corner the market on regional newspapers in Northern and Eastern Europe. The company owns about 300 titles with a combined circulation of about 30 million in five countries. Its operating units include Edda Media, the third-largest newspaper publisher in Norway, and Denmark's Det Berlingske Media. Mecom also owns more than 85% of Koninklijke Wegener in the Netherlands. The company's 51%-owned Presspublica publishes the respected paper Rzeczpospolita in Poland. Along with its newspapers, Mecom Group operates a portfolio of news Web sites that boast a combined audience of nearly 20 million.
