FACTS: The Mega Man series (known as "Rockman" in Japan) has been a major success for developer Capcom. In the original story, Dr. Light dispatches his prized robot fighting champion Mega Man to stop his former assistant, the mad scientist Dr. Wily. Wily intends to rule the world through the use of his robots. Mega Man begins his adventures with his Mega Buster weapon that fires plasma bullets. Whenever he defeats a Robot Master, Mega Man acquires the weapon that the it had formerly used. The finale of each adventure takes place at the fortress of Dr. Wily who always finds a means to escape capture.

In Mega Man X, Mega Man X is found in a capsule buried beneath the ruins of a vacant lab of Dr. Light. The Reploids are a new army of robots that have been built to serve man. Several of them organize a rebellion against the humans. Mega Man X allies himself with he Maverick hunters to quell the Reploid rebellion.

In Mega Man Legends, Mega Man travels on a ship searching for treasure in underground dungeons. Mega Man must battle the Reaverbots, the protectors of these dungeons and the nefarious Bonnes family, a band of pirates.
