Mei Ju-ao (Chinese: 梅汝璈; pinyin: Méi Rǔáo, 1904-1973) was a Chinese jurist, legislator and author.
Education
Mei was a native of Nanchang, Jiangxi province. After graduating from Tsinghua University in 1924, Mei Ju-ao went to the United states to study. In 1926, he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University, and was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa Society the same year. Mei went on to study law at Chicago Law School, where he obtained a Juris Doctor in 1928.
Tokyo Trials
In 1946-48, Mei was the Chinese member of the judges in the International Military Tribunal for the Far East's trials of Japanese war crimes committed during the second World War.
He is portrayed by Damian Lau in the 2006 movie Tokyo Trial.
