Melbourne (formerly, Melburne)^[2] is an unincorporated community in Mendocino County, California.^[1] It is located 3.5 miles (5.6 km) west-northwest of Comptche,^[2] at an elevation of 167 feet (51 m).^[1]

A post office operated at Melbourne from 1901 to 1918.^[2]
