Memorial Health University Medical Center wants to provide memorable health care to the residents of a 35-county region in southeastern Georgia and southern South Carolina. An affiliate of Mercer University School of Medicine, the tertiary care facility provides such services as cardiac and trauma care and rehabilitation. The hospital has some 530 beds and includes the Backus Children's Hospital. It also operates specialty cancer care and women's health centers, as well as research programs. As the flagship facility in a broader system of entities known as Memorial Health, the medical center is affiliated with primary and specialty care clinics and physician networks.
