Meng Jianzhu (Chinese: 孟建柱; pinyin: Mèng Jiànzhù; born July 1947) is the Minister of the Public Security of the People's Republic of China.
Biography
Meng was born in Wu County (present-day Suzhou), Jiangsu.
He was the Jiangxi Committee secretary of the Communist Party of China from 2001 to 2007.
On October 28, 2007, Meng was transferred to Beijing and appointed to the Minister of the Public Security, replacing Zhou Yongkang, who was elevated to become a member of the Politburo Standing Committee.
