meningomyelocele

A saclike cyst containing brain tissue, cerebrospinal fluid, and the meninges that protrudes through a congenital defect in the skull.

Protrusion of the spinal membranes and spinal cord through a defect in the vertebral column. Also called myelocystomeningocele, myelomeningocele.

Hernial protrusion of the meninges and spinal cord through a defect in the vertebral column, often spina bifida.
