Mercy Medical Center, which has some 380 beds, overlooks Long Island's Hempstead Lake State Park. Its acute care facilities include a suburban branch of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Other specialty services include behavioral health, orthopedics, physical therapy, stroke care, and women's health. The medical center grounds are adjacent to the campus of Molloy College, a small Catholic college that supplies nursing students for Mercy and other hospitals. It also provides outpatient services including family and mental health care. Mercy Medical Center, established in 1913 by the Sisters of the Congregation of the Infant Jesus, is a member of the Catholic Health Services of Long Island network.
