Merenhouse is a style of electronic music developed in the US and Latin America by groups such as Proyecto Uno, Fulanito, Los Ilegales, Sandy y Papo, Sancocho and Zona 7. It mixes merengue-style rhythms (notably those of the conga, güira, and Tambora), hip hop vocals, and house-style beats. Reggaeton pioneer El General has also experimented with the genre on songs such as "Caramelo".
