Review

Merry Christmas with the Smurfs is an album of traditional Christmas tunes sung with straightforward appreciation by the Smurfs. In addition to caroling about the 12 Days of Christmas and Santa Claus coming to town, there is a bold air of spirituality, most notably in "Churchbells are Singing." It is indeed alarming to hear cartoon elves claiming "Mary gave birth to our King." Produced with a real feeling of sincerity and joy for the occasion, the record won't be a holiday must-hear, but it succeeds in its own "little" way. ~ Peter Fawthrop, Rovi
