Metal Blade Records is a heavy metal record label that is home to bands such as Black Dahlia Murder, As I Lay Dying, and Six Feet Under. The company was founded in 1982 by Brian Slagel, who then worked days at the Los Angeles metal emporium Oz Records and spent nights putting together one of the first metal fanzines, The New Heavy Metal Revue.
