Metrorrhagia refers to vaginal bleeding among premenopausal women that is not synchronized with their menstrual period. It is often referred to as spotting.

Causes

Uterine bleeding at irregular intervals, particularly between the expected menstrual periods, may or may not be associate with the post-menopausal period.
