Mezam is a county of Southern Cameroons currently occupied by the government of the Republic of Cameroon and currently known as a department of Northwest Province in Cameroon. The department covers an area of 1745 km² and as of 2001 had a total population of 465,644.[1]The capital of the department lies at Bamenda.

The department is divided administratively into 5 communes and in turn into villages.
