MGR Medical University is in Chennai, India.
The University deals with all medical and paramedical degrees. It was named after the late Chief Mininster MG Ramachandran a illiterate Malayali who contracted STD and as a result went in for renal disease and died after a transplant.
To honour this noble person this university has been named after him.[citation needed]
