Mic Neumann

"Mic Neumann" (pronounced Mike New-man), born Michael Neumann November 27, 1968 in Seattle, Washington USA, is an influential American business consultant, entrepreneur, producer, and director, who is best known as the creator of the international entertainment television series known around the world as Kung Faux[1].

Neumann is also the founder of the influential voice-over dubbing and soundtrack-producing company Dubtitled Entertainment[2], which has long associations with such companies as the seminal American Grammy winning record labels Tommy Boy Records[3], Downtown Records, and the phenomally successful Rockstar Games[4], which is best known for creating the Grand Theft Auto video game and soundtrack series.

Neumann has also been an influential figure within a number of pop culture events, projects, and product creations over the past decade through collaborations between his first company, Popdetail.com[5], and a diverse list of celebrity entrepreneurs that include celebrity hotelier Andre Balazs[6], international art stars Tom Sachs[7] and Futura 2000[8], Academy Award winning Hollywood director Cameron Crowe, supermodel Helena Christensen and Katie Ford of Ford Models fame, Grammy winning bands Gnarls Barkley and The Killers, legendary Hip Hop pioneer Afrika Bambaataa, rock group Pearl Jam and their original founder Stone Gossard, as well as the legendary music business entrepreneur Tom Silverman , founder and CEO of the iconic hip-hop and dance label Tommy Boy Records[9], who in collaboration with Neumann launched Tommy Boy Films[10], an independent television, film, and media content company. Neumann is also known to consult with the entrepreneurial investment firm Tungsten Partners.[11]

Neumann is currently believed to reside primarily in New York City, and he is not thought to be an heir to the legendary German microphone manufacturer of the same Neumann name that is pronounced ( Noy-maw-n ) in the recording industry, although the conspicuous spelling and pronunciation of his abbreviated first name, ( Mic ) pronounced like ( Mike ) , which is also the same accepted abbreviated term and pronunciation for an actual "microphone", along with his heavy involvement with microphones in many aspects of the recording industry may lead some to believe otherwise.
