Michael Dougherty is a screenwriter who is known for his work with Dan Harris on the scripts for Bryan Singer's films X2 and Superman Returns.

Early Life
Dougherty attended the Tisch School of Arts at New York University in the Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television, which is where he produced Season's Greetings (1996).[1]
Career
His directorial debut,Trick 'r Treat, is based on his own script, and was produced by Bryan Singer.[2] It played at several film festivals, before being released on DVD on October 6, 2009 in the US and Canada.[3] Now write the storybook to the Film adaption of Dead@17 alongside Vanessa Hudgens.[4]
Personal life
His mother is Vietnamese. Dougherty is an accomplished artist and some of his artwork is displayed on his official website.
Filmography
Dougherty makes a cameo along with Dan Harris on Superman Returns as school kids making notes as Lex Luthor arrives at the museum to steal the meteorite.
