Michael France (born 1962) is a film screenwriter. He has written screenplays for the action films Cliffhanger (1993), the James Bond film GoldenEye (1995), and the popular comic book films Hulk (2003), The Punisher (2004) and Fantastic Four (2005).

Life

He attended the University of Florida in the early 1980s, working as a projectionist at a small theater in Gainesville. He also had a role in the programming for the theater. France earned a graduate degree from the film school at Columbia University in New York City and then moved to Los Angeles where he sold his first script, Cliffhanger.[1]

A St. Petersburg, Florida native, France recently bought the historic Beach Theatre in St. Petersburg. The theater, built in 1939, is known for its independent and foreign films.[1]

He is currently (Apr. 2007) working on a TV project and a movie script. France now lives in Pass-a-Grill in St. Petersburg with his wife, Elizabeth, and their three kids.[1]
