Michael Veitch

Wikipedia: Michael Veitch

Michael Veitch (born 29 November 1962) is an Australian comedian and writer best known for his appearances on the sketch comedy television shows The D-Generation, Fast Forward and Full Frontal.

Veitch became an overnight hit on The D-Generation for a sketch in which he morphed into a werewolf. The creature, incidentally resembling Peter Russell-Clarke, uttered with hilarious effect the catchphrase 'Where's the cheese?'

In 2005, Veitch made a short-lived return to sketch comedy, appearing alongside former Fast Forward patrons Peter Moon and Marg Downey in Let Loose Live. The series was axed after 2 episodes, due to dismal ratings.

In 2006 he started hosting Sunday Arts on the ABC. He parodied a presenter of Sunday Arts during his time on Fast Forward, as well as, Sonny (Skippy parody), Wayne (The Stewards), and Redmond Herring (Media personality). Veitch also parodied media personalities, Clive Robertson, Clive James, former NSW Premier Nick Greiner, and was in a 'Tell The Truth Sketch' about the Fitzgerald Inqury in Queensland. It was during his time in The D-Generation he developed the characters of Kelvin Cunnington, A man who turned the most innocent comments into innuendo and Murray Beckworth an elderly man who keeps talking about the war.

Veitch is the author of Flak - True stories from the men who flew in World War II[1] published in 2006 by Pan Macmillan and Fly: True stories of courage and adventure from the airmen of World War II[2] published by Penguin in August 2008.
