Michael Edward Zordich (born October 12, 1963 in Youngstown, Ohio) is a former professional American football player. He was a 1985 Consensus All-American safety at Penn State University. He played 12 seasons as a cornerback and safety in the National Football League.

He was a four-year letterman at Penn State where he was a stalwart at "hero". He finished his career with 201 tackles. He earned a Bachelor of Science in hotel, restaurant, and institutional management from Penn State in 1986.

The 6' 1", 212 lb. Zordich was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the ninth round (#235 overall) of the 1986 NFL Draft. He was released by the Chargers at the end of pre-season, and signed with the New York Jets. He played 10 of 16 games during his first season in 1987, primarily on special teams. In 1988, he caught his first interception, and ran a 35yard touchdown. He was signed by the Phoenix Cardinals in 1989. He played at the Cardinals for five years, where he scored an interception touchdown in his first season. He moved to Philadelphia Eagles in 1994, where he also scored an interception touchdown in his first season with the club. He played out his career at Eagles, and retired after the 1998 season.

He played a total of 185 games in 12 NFL seasons, made 20 interceptions, and scored four touchdowns, his last a 58 yard fumble recovery touchdown in 1995.

Personal

Zordich lives in Canfield, Ohio with his wife Cynthia, a well-known photographer, and their three children. His son Michael currently plays linebacker for the Nittany Lions.[1]

He presently is back with the Philadelphia Eagles as a Defensive Coaching Staff Intern. [2]
